Religion

Opportunities for religious training and spiritual growth are through services at the on-grounds chapel, a Christian outreach program and an annual religious retreat.

An on-grounds, non-denominational chapel was completed in March of 1980. Services are held Sunday mornings from 9-10 a.m. and Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. We currently use a consent form for participation in our religious services which the parent/guardian signs upon placement of the youth. Attendance is on a voluntary basis and no one will be forced to attend. Those individuals choosing not to attend will be offered positive activities that will be scheduled to coincide with religious services Chapel guidelines are to:

  • Provide an ecumenical religious education.
  • Provide opportunity for development of a non-sectarian faith that will sustain a young adult after leaving Arrowhead.
  • Provide exposure to worship experiences, classical religious music and literature, with the opportunity for planning and executing discussion groups on religious thoughts, words, and ideas.
  • Provide the opportunity for interaction and relationships with people from the community, who attempt to be living examples of their faith and would like to share it with the residents in an open manner.
  • Attempt to provide opportunity for participation in specific denominational services when it is requested, either at Arrowhead or in the community.

In addition to the Sunday morning chapel services, Arrowhead residents voluntarily participate in a two hour Wednesday evening Christian Friendliness meeting and an annual retreat. This is sponsored by local Christian youth and young adults who socialize with our residents and provide religious instruction.
